Being mobile these days is king. Having the ability to move between locations with your equipment is seen as a huge benefit, and if you're a DJ you have no other choice. If you want to be taken seriously as a DJ you need to be able to bring your equipment to any location in order to stand out from crowd. In order to achieve this you need these pieces of equipment!
Portable Power Supply
Without power you cannot play, and if you are going to go to a location that is remote you'll need to have one. This will limit what equipment you can bring, but if your client doesn't mind then you are good to go. This is a just in case of an emergency tool.
Amplifier
The amp is the key for the DJ setup, without it you won't be able to actually manage the power to your speakers or your table. If you don't get an amp that can handle the load being asked of it from your speakers and equipment you will not be able to work.
CD Player
We all know that CD's are going the way of the dodo but many of us have either built of a collection over this time period or will have clients who will insist upon playing a specific album. Having a professional grade CD player around will make sure that you are getting the most out of the songs being played.
DJ Mixers
The mixer allows you to control the sound quality coming out of your speakers. Without this piece of equipment you wouldn't be able to anything but raise and lower the volume rather than control the subtle nuances that come from every song.
Speakers
This is a rather obvious one. Without speakers you cannot hear the music being played. Get them as they are rather important.
